The Mission

Our client wanted to propose to his partner at one of the most spectacular viewpoints along the southwestern coast of the Dominican Republic — without her suspecting a thing. The goal: document every second of the surprise, from arrival to her genuine reaction to the ring, without interrupting the moment or giving away our presence.

Behind the Scenes

We arrived 45 minutes early to scout the mirador, find natural cover, and choose the best proposal angle for the afternoon light. While the drone captured the scene from above, I remained hidden and focused on documenting the proposal from the ground — using a long telephoto lens to stay out of sight. Coordination ran entirely through WhatsApp, silence until the signal, and just one chance to capture the real reaction.
